American Technology and Research, Inc. (ATR Industries) was founded in 1968 by Robert Link and Michael Carlton as a tub/shower manufacturer servicing the home and mobile market of Florida. Over the years the product list grew with the experience of the company, and by the 1980’s it had transitioned into manufacturing and designing water treatment and defense products. Some of these products included parts for the B-1 bomber, F-18 hornet, the seawolf submarine, and the C131 aircraft. Some of these contracts ranged from Tank simulators and Kevlar® helmets, to parts of the space shuttle and navel underwater laboratories.

In 1994 ATR Industries moved to a new location in Greeneville, TN and grew rapidly into more diverse areas. By 1998 additions to the Greeneville facility provided over 40,000 sq ft of workspace, and in 2005 the company expanded yet again to over 100,000 sq ft of manufacturing area along with partners in China to further increase production capabilities. After 40 years in business ATRI is still family owned and operated. Personal pride and attention is put into every project from the conceptual phases of engineering and design to final production and quality assurance. Four decades of experience has made ATR a leader in quality, ingenuity, and innovation with a core competency of finding reliable composite solutions for a wide range of applications.
